But this comment caught my eye:
You mentioned that the intelligentsia hates America. My favorite guru, Eric Hoffer, noted in the sixties that the intellectuals hated America because this country stands as proof that they are unnecessary for human progress. Furthermore this is one of the few countries in which they are denied power (at least until 2008).Seems about right.
