Aussie soldier earns Victoria Cross

By Donald Sensing

Bayou Renaissance Man: Heroism indeed!

An Australian soldier, Corporal Daniel Keighran, has just been awarded that nation's highest honor for valor in action, the Victoria Cross for Australia (equivalent to the US Medal of Honor), for his actions in Afghanistan in 2010.
There is video at the link of the firefight concerned, as well as a vid explaining Cpl. Keighran's heroic deeds.

Australia is the only country whose troops have fought alongside American troops in every conflict since the beginning of the 20th century.
