World records set in Olympic Women's Trap Shooting

Jessica Rossi of Italy had the gold medal in the bag today well before the end of the match. She came to that magic moment when it she could have shot the ground instead of every target left to go and still won.

But of course she did not shoot at the ground. She broke every target remaining and won the gold outright.

There were 150 targets in the qualifying round. Rossi set her first world record there by hitting all of them. Her final score of 99 out of 100 in the medal round set the second world record.

There was a three-way shoot off for silver and bronze. No American qualified for the medal round. Well done, Jessica!
