KTVU actually reported this with a straight face:
Video of the actual broadcast video at the link. KTVU insists the names were confirmed by the NTSB, but the NTSB has responded that it never releases names of flight crews involved in crashes.
I'm guessing a graphics artist at the station was drafting the slide for the news and used these names - they are an old joke - as placeholders (forgetting the classic name of Won Wing Lo). The station has apologized for the report.
But it is still inexcusable that the slide made it past an editor or the reporter.
