Haaretz is reporting that the US will pledge $900 million dollars to rebuild Hamastan.
A U.S. official said on Monday, meanwhile, Washington plans to pledge more than $900 million to help rebuild Gaza after Israel's offensive against Hamas and strengthen the Palestinian Authority.
The money will be channeled through United Nations and other bodies and will not be distributed via the militant group Hamas, which rules Gaza, said the official, who spoke on condition of anonymity as U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton plans to make the announcement next week at a Gaza donors conference in Egypt.
Will someone please explain from where this money will come? Silly me; I thought the US was out of money and out of jobs. Looks like the average working stiffs of America are about to get stiffed again--this time to bail out kidnappers, thugs, and thieves.
Looks like the American taxpayer is about to be pulled in two directions at the mercy of two brands of "terrorists": car makers in Detroit and bomb makers in Gaza.
Who says crime does not pay?

"Pledges" are free, and a billion dollars (rounding up for ease) is, in today's budgets, chump change.
Pledges are often made in the world of politics... and less often carried through. Especially pledges that turn out to have conditions attached to them, as this one might.
I'd wait for the official announcement and all the details before getting too worried.
(I'm not saying that it's all just a ploy to look good without spending anything; I'm sure the US will throw a giant pile of money at Gaza for PR reasons, and possibly from the delusion that there's a real "peace process" it will aid.
But $900M, compared to hundreds and hundreds of billions in domestic spending? That's in the realm of rounding error, not significant expense, from a GDP of over $13 trillion.
I absolutely agree. Still the major concern Israelis have with the Clinton theory of peace is all of the pledges of financial support on which the deals are contingent.
After two decades (rounding error) of promises of support, from troops to money from the US, MORE money as security is seen exactly as you depicted, as a joke.
Israelis would agree--put up the money NOW, not later.
Maybe Hillary is will offering this as THE solution for the housing and building slump in the US--send them all to Gaza for a busman's holiday. Yeah, That's The Ticket! Get all the unemployed contractors to vacation in Gaza City and rebuild Gaza as long as they are there!
I like it!
