What seems to have escaped the president

One the bizarrest (hey, I made up a word!) moments, among many in President Obama's post-election-day  presser yesterday was this (27 seconds in):

“To everyone that voted, I want you to know that I heard you,” Obama began. “To two-thirds of voters that chose not to participate in the process yesterday, I hear you, too.”

Get that? The people who did not speak are "heard" nonetheless. But let that go. What seems to have escaped the president is that there were more people who didn't vote for Democrats than who didn't vote for Republicans.

So the Democrats lost the votes and the non-votes.

Obama, in this as in so many things, just doesn't get it.
