Eric Holder, top U.S. officials no-shows at Paris unity rally
Angela Merkel was there. Benyamin Netanyahu was there. David Cameron was there. Mahmoud Abbas; Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko and Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov were all there. They all marched with locked arms in solidarity that Islamist barbarian cannot prevail against liberty, along with almost four million people, including an large though unspecified number of foreign marchers.
President Obama was in Washington. John Kerry was in India (at least he was on the job). Obama sent Attorney General Eric Holder to represent the United States at the rally.
But he didn't. He went over but did not attend the rally. The Justice Department says he was attending security meetings somewhere. One must wonder, with whom? Anyone who was anyone was marching.
So did anyone represent the United States at the rally? Yes, the US ambassador to France, who of course lives in Paris. Wow, what an effort.
No one from the US government made a special trip to represent 317 million Americans on the march. No. One.
Even the president of Mali made it. But not our president ("though his public schedule was empty the day of the massive gathering") nor anyone else from his administration. This was a deliberate, intended snub; there is no other possible conclusion.
