As full-time pastors become a thing of the past, more and more seminary grads are taking on secular jobs to supplement their incomes.Anyone familiar with the Blue Model that has been the rule in America since World War II - and its decline and the reasons why - will understand this. I explained it in the United Methodist context about five years ago in "Death Throes of the Blue Model Church." And the UMC is one of the bluest of the blue out there.
