Battle of the professors: Richard Dawkins branded a fundamentalist by expert behind the 'God particle' | Mail Online:
Physicist Peter Higgs, for whom the Higgs boson is named, is one of the towering figures in present-day science. A self-described atheist, he has branded militant-atheist biology Prof. Richard Dawkins a "fundamentalist."
The description is apt. I recall reading as essay by another atheist who said that there are atheists and then there are "anti-theists," of whom Dawkins is a prime example. Anti-theism is indeed a form of fundamentalism. In Dawkins' case, it is fundamentalist scientism.
And Dawkins' fundie atheism is so darn Protestant!
